Monstrous Black Hole Is Devouring Matter!

Scientists have made an incredible discovery! They have detected the brightest and fastest-growing black hole to have ever existed in the last 9 billion years. This cosmic entity is 3 billion times larger than the Sun and swallows up Earth-sized chunks every single second. On an unprecedented scale, this black hole is unfathomable.

The new supermassive black hole, named J1144, is around 500 times larger than the supermassive black hole, Sagittarius A, at the center of our galaxy, the Milky Way. A ring of scorching plasma surrounds this gargantuan void, emitting around 7,000 times more light than our entire galaxy.

This black hole’s voracious appetite is unusual. Typically, a black hole’s growth rate slows down noticeably as it becomes more massive. But J1144 defies this trend, as it is growing and consuming so much matter that its event horizon, the point where nothing can escape, is exceptionally wide. The orbits of all our planets could easily fit inside it.

Black holes can’t be seen directly, but their presence is detected through their accretion disk, the ring of plasma around them. J1144 has the brightest accretion disk ever recorded. This remarkable find was made by the Australian National University’s SkyMapper Southern Sky Survey.
