How Long Does it Take to Heal After The Death of a Husband?

Grief and sorrow have their own timetable

Where do I go to heal?

Another city, state or another country?

These are questions that I keep asking myself.

So far, I’m not able to answer myself.

Looking back over it brings tears.

I sold my home and the majority of personal belongings after the untimely death of my husband.

I sold things that were very near and dear to my heart.

Items that I never thought I would part with. But, after losing my husband, my things weren’t as important anymore. They were part of a different life belonging to a happier time.

Suddenly, I am not the same person. My life changed in a blink of an eye. What life am I supposed to live now?

I am a woman without purpose. I don’t know how I am supposed to live.

More tears.

Dealing with the death of my husband and selling my house and belongings was very challenging and stressful. Any move is hard, but if my husband had been with me, it would have been easier.

I feel ripped apart from deciding what to keep and what to sell. It’s so hard tearing up your life of many years as there are so many memories attached to everything.

Think about that for a moment.

So, I bought a property in an old neighborhood of pleasing older single family homes and multiple family homes. The location is great as it is close to all conveniences.

I just wanted a house that I could move into and close the door on the world. I couldn’t find any type of apartment and buying made more sense.

This house was built to be a two family and I had thought about making it into a single family.
