There are many ways to reduce or eliminate no shows. It all starts with more active communication with your clients.

More than 100 million people own personal digital calendars (Google Calendar, Outlook, Office 365, etc…) but only a few percent ACTUALLY use them. This means that their appointments are often in their heads, written down on a piece of paper or perhaps on a calendar in the kitchen. But none of these non digital mechanisms will remind the client they need to show up.

In 2018, Pew Research found that 95% of all Americans own a cell phone and have used text messaging. That’s about 277 million people in the US (excluding younger children).

Texting is great because it's asynchronous. This means that they can read the message at their leisure, and respond when it suits them.

So use the communication tools that everyone has access to.
